Pet Adoption Corner
Our clinic prides itself in its outstanding adoption record.
We have fostered and found forever homes for hundreds of strays and the Guelph Humane Society in honour of the memory of our long time employee Judy Lacina.
Visit our website or drop by the clinic and give a pet a home.
Marlow is a young adult male who is here at our clinic looking for his new home through the Guelph Humane Society. Marlow is a beautiful and very laid back boy who is looking for a quiet home. Marlow was screen, as all shelter cats are, for Feline Leukemia and FIV. He tested positive for FIV. Feline immunodeficiency virus attacks the immune system and leaves cats vulnerable to complications from illnesses that FIV-negative cats are better able to
fight off. However, keeping FIV-positive cats indoors and seeking vet care once issues are first noticed means that these cats often live long and happy lives! FIV is spread from cat to cat through severe bites so Marlow would need a slow introduction to FIV-negative cats, or would need to live with another FIV-positive cat.
If you’d like to meet Mr. Marlow, swing by the clinic during our open hours. For more information about FIV, call us. For questions on the adoption process, contact the Guelph Humane Society at 519-824-3091.
